(Delayed) Tuesday Inspiration

Dear readers, sorry for the delay in my "Tuesday Inspiration" post, but I'm operating on the proviso that it's better late than never this week!

This week's quote comes from the great peace-maker, Mohandas Gandhi.

Gandhi was a strong beliver in the principle of "ahimsa" or non-violence, which is one of the most important concepts in yogic philosophy. It refers not only to physical violence but to violent words and thoughts as well. Practicing ahimsa requires great concentration and constant vigilance, making it one of the most difficult yogic practices to master.

Such is the importance of ahimsa in yogic philosophy, that once it is perfected all other forms of practice are no longer needed. Gandhi himself was proof of the power of non-violence and a living example of his own advice. Next time you feel the urge to gossip, argue or think negative thoughts, it might be the perfect time to ask yourself - what would Gandhi do!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday,

*Little Lotus*
